Our awareness campaign receives four GOLD awards at this year's ADwards

We are super thrilled and proud to announce that our awareness campaign "For Your Breast Safety" received four GOLD awards at this year's ADwards organised by the Latvian Art Directors' Club.

- Brand activation live events;
- Integration and innovation non-profit, public service sector;
- Public sector campaigns;
- Creative effectiveness – corporate social responsibility, charity, social marketing.

October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is internationally recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness month and, in support of women in Latvia suffering from this disease, SIA Multum is donating 10 cents from all "The Pink Stuff" products sold in October to the Pink Train Foundation.

Pinktrain marathon 2023

Having survived the Covid-19 pandemic, charities and NGO’s are now experiencing the negative effects of the war in Ukraine, as many funds are, understandably, being channelled to fight this cause. However, the number of women diagnosed with breast cancer in Latvia remains on the increase - over 1200 new cases every year. Over the last 8 years the Pink Train Foundation has helped more than 1000 women diagnosed, covering the costs of psychological support following diagnosis and physiotherapy after surgery, and the number of women helped remains steady every year.

Following a three year break we are therefore delighted to announce that this year we are organising the Pink Train May Marathon again and invite you to take part and help us raise funds for our cause.

How can you participate?

During the month of May run, walk, cycle, ride, roller-blade or use whatever other means to "do" 42k. Keep a tally of your achievements and invite your friends, family, colleagues and others to support you by donating to the Pink Train Foundation. Donations can be made via our fund-raising link or directly to our bank account or paypal account. All donations made in May will be counted towards our goal of raising a minimum of EUR 4200. (As a guide, we need an average of EUR 3000 a month to cover the costs of counselling and physiotherapy for breast cancer patients).

We would love it if you posted pictures of your efforts on your social media with one or more of the following hashtags #pinktrainmarathon2023 #rozāvilcienamaratons2023 #pinktrain42k (optional, of course).

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the challenge to the individual and group (family, friends, company or organisation) raising the highest amount, as well as those considered to be the most creative. The pinker, the better, of course!

Breasts are everywhere. On TV, in adverts, movies and magazines. We love to look at them; we love to stand out with them! They stir society, and yet their health is still taboo! We want to change this by launching a new campaign #PUPKULTURA. At the heart of this name and the movement itself is the idea that breast care must become an everyday part of our lifestyle and culture.

We ask anyone and everyone to look after their breasts, as well as donate and support women affected by breast cancer, giving them the opportunity to have counselling with a psychologist or psychotherapist after being diagnosed and during treatment, as well as consultations and physiotherapy sessions following their operations.

Rimi donation campaign

There is currently a great way for everyone to help support women affected by breast cancer in Latvia, by emptying their cash into the Pink Train Foundation donation boxes by the cashiers in all Rimi supermarkets, until 17 th March. The funds raised will be used to pay for individual counselling or physiotherapy sessions for women affected by this disease.

Every year in Latvia, over 1000 women receive the diagnosis “breast cancer”. This news is a shock to any woman at any age, however, it has been shown that support and the knowledge that help is available is an important factor in better recovery rates. The early detection of breast cancer is also important, however, women are often afraid to go to their doctor in case they are diagnosed with the disease, not knowing how they will go on living in that case.

In 2018, the Pink Train Foundation provided support for 150 women in Latvia affected by breast cancer. We anticipate that in 2019 this figure will increase to 300 and, in order to cover this support, we need to raise at least EUR 30 000.

Campaign #PUPKULTURA

We want to change this by launching a new campaign #PUPKULTURA. At the heart of this name and the movement itself is the idea that breast care must become an everyday part of our lifestyle and culture.

We will start with a campaign in February, under the slogan: “Take care of what you LOVE!” This will be a campaign in which we celebrate our love for breasts, because they have given us so much, from the day we were born!

The campaign will encourage people to remember to regularly check their breasts for any possible changes, as well as call for donations towards supporting women with breast cancer, giving them the opportunity to have counselling and/or physiotherapy sessions.

In 2018, the Foundation provided support for 150 women in Latvia affected by breast cancer. We anticipate that in 2019 this figure will increase to 250 and, in order to cover this support, we need to raise at least EUR 25 000.

By combining street advertising with social networks, we will not only introduce the movement, but also allow others to engage in activities that they can share with others.

We will also launch an online shop for fashion and charity products.

However, this is just the beginning. Our plans are to expand the long-term movement by attracting different partners from art and other industries, together creating a variety of activities to help bring the idea of the movement alive.

The campaign is organised by The Pink Train Foundation charity, which helps provide support for women with breast cancer.

Donate to support women affected by breast cancer

Between 1^st February and 11^th March this year, the Pink Train Foundation's charity phone number will be available for you to make donations of EUR 1,42 towards fulfilling the charity’s objectives – raising funds to support patients with a breast cancer diagnosis. The number of phone calls you make are not limited! 10 phone calls will cover 1 physiotherapy session, 15 phone calls will cover 1 counselling session with a psychologist or psychotherapist. Don't call a friend, call Pink Train!
